Influence of the size of walnut shell particulates on mechanical properties of epoxy-based composites

In the present work, a new class of polymer composite is developed using walnut shell powder (WSP) as particulate filler in epoxy matrix. Three different sizes WSP are used for preparing three sets composites. The particle size selected 50-micron, 75-micron, and 100-micron. each set composites with size, four compositions i.e., 5 wt. %, 10 15 % 20 fabricated. All prepared have undergone testing to study behavior material under mechanical loading. tests performed tensile test, flexural compressive test hardness test. From experimentation, inclusion appreciably alters properties epoxy. With increase content filler, an appreciable value strength observed. Though, it has been seen that compromised slightly when increases beyond certain limit. Further, observed fabricated smaller particles give improved compared their counterparts.
